I can’t believe how quickly time has flown! When I booked my trip to Thailand in January it seemed totally surreal to me that I would be flying half way around the globe to go and teach. But, here I am, four and a half months down the line, bursting with excitement, and kicking myself for being so unorganised. Every time I’ve thought about holiday shopping I put it off, telling myself “I’ll do it closer to the time”. Now I’m two weeks away from flying and making checklist upon checklist of things I need to take.
I spend a lot of time thinking about my trip. Teaching English as a second language is something I’ve always wanted to do, and finally taking the plunge and going for it is something I’m so proud of myself for doing. Occasionally I find myself freaking out and thinking “what on earth am I doing?!” But mostly I keep wishing the days away so I can finally begin my adventure.
I decided writing a blog about my travels this summer would be the best way to keep friends and family updated on what I get up to and share my stories with, but mostly it is something I can look back and reflect upon once I’m home.
I hope you’ll all enjoy coming along on this adventure with me!
